The book

And then the book was ready! Proof on Feb 2, 2022, final printing on Dec 1, 2022. One day before it was to be presented to the public. Kind of exciting anyway.

252cc

I had contacted the Cultural Centre 252cc in the beautiful little castle Hof De Bist in Ekeren. Things clicked immediately. There would be a concert in the intimate concert hall with electroacoustic surround studio creations, with video and with computer-controlled pipe organs.

Upstairs in a beautiful roof space there would be set up my sound art installation, "Frogs in a rice paddy".

It was a pleasure to be welcomed there. The staff did their utmost to make everything run smoothly.During consultation moments, I also received some very useful tips.

It is also nice to mention that the concert was completely sold out after only a short time.

From Tendequaar to Nightingale

The title of the book was also the title of the concert. The programme included early works like "Tendequaar" with electronic tape music and computer graphics, but also quite recent works for my computer-controlled pipe organ like "Nightingale". Hence the title.

It was a challenge to play the electronic music synchronised with video and with pipe organs, but it succeeded superbly.

The installation in the roof space was also beautifully spotlighted and ran very well.

Het programma

  1. Tendequaar
  2. The piano is de wolf
  3. The Zandman
  4. Six Sequences
  5. Suite "How bright is the future?"
    - Absolutely Tremendous
    - In Paradisum
    - The Blackbird
    - The Nightingale
  6. Ceremony

I don't know how long this concert will remain on the 252cc website, but for now [this link] still works.
